Pre Collection SS2011 Macedonian designer Risto Bimbiloski has finally taken his edgy and elegant design to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, presenting his Pre-Spring 2011 collection at the Bebels Platz in Berlin on July 10th 2010 at 8pm. This collection can be summarized as an exercise in style of a “work in progress”: Artisanal knits are combined with digital prints and are following a floral theme: the very universal, commonly beautiful and yet incredibly mysterious subject of flowers is reflected in abstract digital prints of petals onto silk crepes and jerseys, using bold pastel tones and dispersed flashes of vivid color. The construction of the garment is also reminiscent of the floral theme; petal like layered segments of fabric are giving a complex but light allure. The silhouette combines aspects of very wearable clothes with a an overall elegance, the kind that Risto is so well known for and that earned him already a nice celebrity following: Dakota Fanning, Angela Lindval, Tavi Gevinson and Kate Perry are just a few among his fans.
