“Le Chimère” Danish designer Stina Goya has finally taken her elegant, neo-classical garments to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin. In a mixture of seasons, Stina Goya again proves her eloquence with “Le Chimère”. The AW10/11 collection „La Ville Fantôme“ is inspired by landscape photgrapher Ansel Adams. „His picture have a truly striking character in their portrayal of barren yet dramatic landscapes. They resonate a wild, almost hostile feeling and yet they have the most fantastic texture which beckons you closer“, states Stine. The importance of authenticity and renewal has always shone brighter than the one of adherring to current trends. With reference to painter Georgia O‘Keefe the „La Ville Fantôme“ embodies lustrous flower portraits and hispanic atmosphere in the outskirts of New Mexico. Stina Goya presents a collection more subdued in its expression which car- ries over into the palette, predominantly revolving around dusty earth tones. The SS10 collection creates a universe of antagonisms, where the sculptural engages flighty transparent silks, and sporadic masculine details entwine with the classically feminine. A loose and nonchalant silhouette intermixed with rigid lean lines creates a canvas for a cascade of pastels broken by deep black, creating an illusion of something capricious and experimental. The prominent and characteristic use of iconic prints is laden with a touch of irony this season, intending to lend the collection a humorous accent. “Le Chimère” is yet another great example of Stina Goya’s seemingly endless aspiration to create truly inspiring design.
