Jofama was founded in Malung year 1926 by the entrepreneur Mr Niss Oskar Jonsson. The company was given the name JOFA, which means from JOnssons FActories.
Year 1958 the Norwegian daughter company Jofano AS was founded, which was re-named to Jofama AS in 1998. Jofama AS is located in Kongsvinger, 70 km north of Oslo and 180 km west from the company base in Malung.
In 1973 the company who dealt with sport equipment and leather garments was separated in two parts. Volvo bought the sport division and kept the name JOFA, which still is a worldwide famous brand for hockey- and other sport equipment. Mr Jonsson kept the leather division and re-named it to JOFAMA (JOnssons FActories MAlung).
Jofama is today one of Scandinavias largest and oldest leather fashion companies. Today, we also deal with motorcycle- and snowmobile garments under following brand names: Jofama, Halvarssons, Lindstrands. We use our own technical membrane Dryway in many of these products. Our motorcycle department have long history of producing hi-tech garments for Swedish, Norwegian, British and Czech police and military.
Today, the company is owned by three persons: Mr Fredrik Mellgren, Mr Jan Elfstrom and Mr Peter Eriksson.
Our products can be found in following countries; Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Ireland and Belgium.
The yearly turnover of the company group is appx 120 million SEK (equal to 11 million EUR).
The head office of Jofama is located in Malung, a city located 350 km north west of Stockholm. Malung has a very long history of producing leather over centuries. We are 20 persons working at the head office in Malung and 3 persons at Norwegian office in Kongsvinger. Beside that, we have appx 20 sales representatives and showrooms in the countries where we are represented.

During the last years, the Jofama fashion department has strengthened its efforts on developing garments with the latest fashion in combination with our high quality standard. Today, our design team includes 3 full-time designers.
From time to time, we also collaborate with other famous designers. For example A/W 2008 we had the famous Swedish jewellery designer Efva Attling who created her own leather jacket for Jofama.
In year 2009, the heaute couture designer Lars Wallin is making his mini-collection in leather for us. Lars Wallin is, among others, well-known for creating dresses for the Swedish queen and princesses.
In 2009-2010 we also have co-operation with a young Swedish girl with name Kenza Zouiten. She is running one of the most read blogs in Sweden, with about 100.000 readers daily. Her collection has been very popular among the young and trendy crowd.
Many of the hottest singers can be seen wearing Jofama's trendy leather jackets. We have a huge range of editorials in the Scandinavian fashion magazines. Dont miss to watch our collection on our web-site.
